Health Guarantee
The above-described puppy is being sold in good health. It has been de-wormed at 2, 4, 6, & 8 weeks, has received a Neopar and a 5-way puppy vaccination at 6/7 weeks, and if still with us, was given a booster shot at 8/9 weeks.
General Guarantee:
If your puppy develops symptoms of parvovirus, canine distemper, or hepatitis within 5 days of leaving our home and is examined by a licensed veterinarian who issues a diagnosis stating that the puppy was infected prior to leaving our home, we will refund an amount, no more than half the selling price of the puppy (not including shipping) for treatment of the infection. The puppy may also be returned for a replacement puppy within 3 days of the diagnosis. Any shipping costs to return the puppy for a replacement are the responsibility of the Purchaser. The Breeder reserves the right to obtain a second opinion before a replacement puppy is provided. A copy of the veterinarian’s diagnosis must be provided to the Breeder before any money is refunded or the puppy is replaced. A replacement puppy will not be offered for slight and non-life-threatening defects such as, but not limited to: small umbilical hernia, undescended testicle, or slight underbite or overbite. Any umbilical hernia or other defect of concern to our vet will be repaired before the puppy leaves our home, if the vet deems it necessary.
Genetic Guarantee
The above-described puppy is guaranteed free from any genetic defects of the hips, elbows, and eyes for a period of two years.
Eye Defects: Any request for refund or replacement due to eye defects requires an exam by a certified Canine Ophthalmologist and a signed statement of diagnosis, as well as all medical documentation from date of purchase to current date.
Hip/Elbow Defects: An evaluation of hips must be completed by OFA when the puppy is 18-24 months of age for the puppy to be returned for hip dysplasia. This will be done at the Purchaser’s expense. If the puppy is diagnosed by OFA as being severely dysplastic at or before 24 months of age, the Purchaser must submit a copy of the OFA report to the Breeder. An evaluation of elbows may be done by 1 year of age. A veterinarian cannot make the diagnosis. It can only be made by OFA accredited hip/elbow specialist certifiers, and the puppy must be sedated for the radiograph to be taken.
The Purchaser has several options if the puppy does have a genetic defect (hip/elbow dysplasia or eye defect). If the puppy needs to be laid to rest due to the severity of the defect, the Purchaser may choose to receive a replacement puppy of the same value within one year of the defect diagnosis.
If the Purchaser chooses to keep the puppy and keep up with the condition, there are two options.
1. The Purchaser can choose to have half the purchase price refunded (not including shipping cost) to help cover the costs of caring for the puppy and no replacement puppy will be provided.
2. The Purchaser can choose to have a replacement puppy, and no money will be refunded. We do not require a defective dog to be returned to us. We know you love and care for the dog and wouldn’t expect you to part with it at a time when it needs you.
Congenital Guarantee:
This puppy is guaranteed until 2 years of age against fatal and severe life-threatening or life-altering disease. This includes heart, kidney, pancreas, liver, or spine problems of a severe life-threatening or life-altering nature. If the puppy dies within its first two years of life, the Purchaser will pay to have it autopsied to determine the reason. If the reason is congenital, the Breeder will replace the puppy.
The Purchaser will be required to show to the Breeder veterinary receipts and medical records as indicated above. The Breeder reserves the right to have an additional examination by the veterinary clinic of our choice prior to providing a replacement puppy.
Puppies are not sold on a trial basis. No refunds or exchanges will be made except for the conditions listed above.
This puppy must never be placed with a rescue organization, shelter, pound, or any such organization.
The Purchaser must contact the Breeder in the event that the puppy needs to be rehomed. Although we may not be able to take the dog back into our home at that time, due to limited space, we will help you rehome the dog. We do require that you provide us with the new owner’s contact information so that we are able to stay in in contact with the new owner of our puppy. If shipping is required to return the dog, it is the financial responsibility of the Purchaser. Purchaser also agrees that he/she will be the principal owner and care giver of said puppy, and that the puppy is not being purchased as a gift for a third party (with the exception of their children in the home), unless the Breeder is informed and approves of the individual receiving the puppy.
Adult size, confirmation, color, and pattern of the puppy are not guaranteed. The Breeder assumes no responsibility for the puppy after it leaves the premises for medical expenses, mortality, behavior, family disagreement, landlord disapproval, or any reason other than those listed above. It is understood that no warranty or representation has been made regarding the puppy except as set forth in writing in this agreement. It is further agreed that the puppy is of pet quality for the expressed purpose of a companion pet.

THE GUARANTEE IS VALID ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS ARE MET.
The Purchaser must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 5 days after receiving the puppy. The Breeder must be informed immediately of the examinations by email.
Complete and accurate health records must be maintained for a period of 24 months. This includes all preventative care such as vaccinations, including heart wormer and a rabies vaccine after 4 months of age. The puppy should be kept on a flea and tick preventative as well as a monthly worm guard preventative. Copies of these records will be required to be submitted to the Breeder if the Purchaser is requesting a refund or replacement. This health guarantee is void if the puppy has not been given necessary vaccinations, regular de-wormer, and flea and tick preventatives.
This guarantee is only applicable to the above-named Purchaser and is not transferable. If the puppy has been sold or rehomed, the guarantee becomes void.
If the puppy has been physically injured or abused in any way, this guarantee is void.
If the puppy is subjected to strenuous exercise, I.e., long jogs under 18 months of age, jumping from elevated surfaces, etc., which places undue stress on the joints and can cause hip problems, this guarantee is void.
If the puppy is allowed to become overweight, causing stress of the joints, this guarantee is void.
